- From the exit, follow signs for Gannat, then for the campsite: the town centre is 5 minutes away
- Vichy is about 20 minutes away on the A719
A detailed access map is on our map and directions page.
Pitches designed for motorhomes
The campsite has 60 pitches of about 100 m², with electricity included. Pitches 1 to 6 are reserved for motorhomes. A service area lets you fill up with water and empty your tanks before you hit the road again.
In 2027, a pitch costs €20 per night in low and mid season and €26 per night in July and August. The price includes 2 people, 1 vehicle and electricity. See the rates page for details, and the pitches page for a description of the pitches.
The campsite is open from 26 March to 7 November 2027. In summer, the swimming pool is open: welcome after a long day at the wheel.

What to do in an evening or a morning
Gannat town centre
Five minutes from the campsite, the centre is easy to explore on foot. The Yves Machelon municipal museum holds a 9th-century Carolingian gospel book, shown on a touch screen, and the skeleton of a fossil rhinoceros. The museum opens in the afternoon, on days that vary with the season: check the opening times before you go.
The market
Gannat market takes place on Wednesday and Saturday mornings, place Hennequin, from about 8 am to 1 pm. A good chance to stock up the fridge before you leave. Check the times with the town hall or on the town of Gannat website (in French), which also lists local events.
Charroux
About twenty minutes' drive away, Charroux is listed among the Most Beautiful Villages of France. Medieval lanes, stone houses and craft workshops: you can stroll round it in an hour or two, ideal at the end of the day. More information on the Most Beautiful Villages of France website.
Vichy
If you have a morning to spare, Vichy is about 20 minutes away. Parks along the Allier, spa-town architecture and a shopping centre: a pleasant break before getting back on the motorway.

Our tips for a smooth stopover
- Book ahead in July and August. Motorhome pitches are limited and go quickly in high season.
- Check your vehicle size. Pitches are about 100 m². If your vehicle is very long or tows a trailer, say so when you book.
- Pay online if you arrive after 7 pm. That is what triggers the access code.
- Plan to use the service area in the morning. It is on site: you leave with empty tanks and a full water supply.
- Think of the market. A stop on a Wednesday or Saturday lets you enjoy local produce.
One night, or a little longer
Many motorhome travellers stop at Le Mont Libre for one night and come back for several days. The Sioule gorges, Vichy and Charroux are all within easy reach, and the campsite also has 13 cottages if one day you travel without your vehicle. All the practical information is on our practical information page.
